  Shuswap Lake Provincial Park (149 hectares) was established in 1956 and was named for the Shuswap Natives, whose artifactsare found in this area.

  Spent a day here in late August of 2017. I live in Manitoba, where lakes and rivers are plentiful. The freshwater gets relatively warm. Shuswap Lake however, does not. I enjoyed the experience as it was scorching that day, but i do warn travellers that the water is very cold. Besides that, the experience was beyond expectation. Very clean park, and well maintained. Even saw people painting park benches, and the staff hard at work all day.

  Fantastic family campsite. Lots of bathrooms and showers and the beach is very convenient. It is not a sandy beach so bringing water shoes is probably a good idea. There is a park for kids to play at and the sites are quiet at night so that everyone can get some sleep. Good tree coverage.

  Supplies, groceries, and many recreational opportunities including bumper boats, mini-golf driving range, go-carts, para-sailing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, boat and jet-ski rentals are offered by near-by businesses.

  The park is situated on the old delta of Scotch Creek, has one kilometer of sandy, pebble beach, and includes the whole of Copper Island. The park also offers a large grassy play area, an adventure playground, a large boat launch. and a self-guidingnature trail. Boaters may wish to visi tCopper Island, located 1.3 kilometres offshore. A 2.8 km hiking trail provides beautifulviews of the area.

  Nice place in places. Expensive to camp though and usually all spots are reserved. Local town of Scotch Creek is getting a bit run down. Needs a lot more sidewalks or paths in town since it's hard to get to park except on the too fast highway. Oddly you have to walk or bike on roads or highway for much of the town. Businesses in area are plain and don't really try to feel like a destination. Most are like old industrial park in design. Landscaping or even a single tree are rare by shops or businesses... even new ones. I guess they think nearby forests are enough but they aren't.
